EARLabs was started in 1999 as a public stage for composers who wanted to learn about other composers. Through EARLabs they are able to present themselves and have themselves compared.

EARLabs MK7 started in April 2003, with a new music label and better maintenance capabilities. Also the option for labels to present themselves was introduced.
EARLabs mk8 started in May 2006 with an editorial team and more indepth background information. EARLabs aims at becoming a place of reference for netlabels that release electronic music.
