- Kapotte Muziek - History Is What Was It is therefore with great pride that I present you this first Kapotte Muziek. what you hear is an inbetween state of something built, broken and restructured. It was originally released in 1990 in an edition of 220 copies. Jos Smolders When asked to write something about my first LP as Kapotte Muziek which is now available for download, I dug out a copy of the original and read the extensive liner notes again. For a second or two, I thought I should retype them (they hail from the pre-days of computer), but I abandoned that idea. Not because I consider them irrelevant by today's standards; they are indepth descriptions of each concept behind each track. Kapotte Muziek was always a band of recycling, so when Nico Selen of Independent Friends Records asked me for a whole LP of my music, I decided it should be a showcase of previous tracks and ideas which were released on the many cassettes from the era 1984-1990. In some cases I reworked pieces. Hearing back this material after all these years, I still think it's a good showcase of the music and ideas behind Kapotte Muziek, crossing borders of industrial music and musique concrete. Thanks to Jos Smolders & Nico Selen Frans de Waard |
