LC015 - 2 Daughters - Gloria / Kiss the Cloth

I bought this album somewhere in the 1980s when I was a huge fan of NWW. There was no relevant information but it definitely had the NWW touch, so I gathered it must be related. There was no internet at the time, nobody I knew had ever heard of the album, so I just enjoyed it.

A year ago I thought it would be interesting to release it. Just to check out the owner I wrote to the address that was printed on the side of the cover (pobox in surrey) but never got an answer. I checked the brainwashed repository on NWW and United Dairies and there it was. A small reference to the album.

Further investigation informed me that Nicky Rogers was part of the NWW crowd during the Chance meeting era. He was a guitarist with whom Stapleton did a lot of experimentation at the time.

I never received an answer from Surrey and as it says above: the album is unavailable. A perfect sample for the Laboratoire Classique! There is some mystery about the tracklisting. The Brainwashed info tells me that there are 3 tracks on side 1 and 5 on side 2. I couldn;t hear that and so made my own separations. The music lacks the jumpy anarchism of early UD, but it breathes the right UD atmosphere which has always been nice to me.

Finally: I have recorded these albums with an Ortofon stylus and a Technics SL1200. The recordings have been input into a computer. I have declicked the recording and applied very mild noise reduction. As a result it is still audibly a vinyl recording. However I prefer this over the scraping away of frequencies that are part of the composition. All files are converted to 192 kb/s VBR mp3 files. JS
