Jacaszek - Treny

RATED: 7 / 10
reviewed by Sietse van Erve
5/7/2008
Jacazecks's Treny is one of the new modern classical music albums that lives up the memory of music by Erik Satie and Arvo Pärt. Classical instruments are mixed with electronics to create a pallet of melancholic music for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

This got lost in our short downage from last week. Sadly enough I haven't found the time yet to rewrite this review and it was the only thing not recoverable from the server.

For now I just want to leave it at the following:

Treny by Jacazeck is a nice release for people who are in the music of Deaf Center, Ryan Teague, Marsen Jules and others who are somehow similar or related.
If you like this kind of music you should really check it out.
If you are new to this modern version of classical music combined with ambient sounds I don't think it is a good starting point, though still an enjoyable release.

The label Miasmah keeps on showing they have a keen eye on quality music and that they take a leading role surrounding this young generation of ambient musicians and composers. Go check it out.

As soon as I have more time I will see if I can rewrite the whole review or else just read some of the others online.
