[ Scott Tuma - Not for nobody ]
There is a very strong accent of classic music on Milton Cross' Light in the west, that could be because he started to play the violin at 4. Also you can feel a strong influence of ambient music and electro acoustic music as well.

Light in the west is one of the most beautiful albums on the folk genre that I have heard recently as the strings and the use o field recordings add plenty of depth, emotionality and abstractness to it.

Aside from his solo folk recording performing work, Milton Cross has performed with several bands, recorded movie soundtracks and worked as a sound artist. These side projects have obviously added character to his work.

A great album for those fans of folk/ambient works, another masterpiece release by Digitalis Industries, truly one of the best labels when it comes to new approaches to folk music.

Read all about and by David Velez and listen to his favorite tracks!
