Shinjiro Yamaguchi is a sound artist and composer from Japan. He was a memeber of the post-rock group SOMA. His latest concept is to play the guitar in almost inaudible sounds and to set sound figures on time axis by modeling them with the internal feedback of a mixing board.

The work of Shinjiro Yamaguchi is intense and strongly persistent in a haunting fashion. He uses frequencies that could be perceived as provoking, needly and vehement.

Sawako and Richard Chartier require no introduction as they are two of the best-known sound artists these days.

The individual and previous work of these three artists automatically draws interesting expectations. The result of this performance is surprising and very unpredictable as the three artists engage in such a coherent and organic dialog that this performance establishes a new and a very personal character of its own.

The 33:55 long performance goes through a series of phases that suggests all kind of spaces and sometimes the presence of people is audible like a whispering crowd. There is always a sound appearing in the front of an enormous back wall. This keeps the listener always focused but still aware of his surrounding.

Term is one of my favorite netlabels, they release material of the same level as the material released by 12k on CD's. november 9, 2007 is a great release don't be lazy they are only 77.2 megabytes between you and heaven.

Read all about and by David Velez and listen to his favorite tracks!
