REVIEWS FOR Scott Sherk - 23 Fountains of Beverly Hills
Stasisfield

Think about Beverly Hills and you probably think of wealth, privilege, the entertainment industry, or even shallowness; but sculptor and field recordist Scott Sherk has found depth in the neighborhood's many private water fountains. Untreated and presented as a single track with abrupt splices rather than smooth crossfades, the recordings take on a sonic sculptural structure that leads the listener through three and four dimensional spaces, ultimately presenting (as Sherk states in his liner notes) "the sound of money".
