Mark Lyken – Boneshaker

“The ‘boneshaker’ sound works & companion film were made when Emma Dove and I first moved to Dumfries & Galloway in 2015 to undertake a public art residency with The Stove Network.

We acquired an elderly Hackney Cab from London & toured the Dumfriesshire countryside, gathering footage and interviewing people in the back of the taxi studio about their memories, connections and relationships to the region.The larger project was called “HAME”, an installation that ran over two floors and into the High Street with a self-titled film, the ‘boneshaker’ works, and a three channel sound piece of interview material that played at low volumes into the space.”
